News Death Notice

BOWDEN, Billy R. age 91 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013. He was born August 2, 1921 in Sinks Grove, West Virginia, the son of the late George R. & Wilma (Morris) Bowden. Mr. Bowden was retired from Karolton Envelope, honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Alta Bowden on November 16, 2012, a brother Richard Bowden and 3 sisters Norma Roberts, Barbara Sheridan and Wilma Salzgeber. Survivors include his 2 sons Thomas Bowden and Jeffrey Bowden both of Dayton, his daughter Linda Ohrt and husband Paul of Mulvane, KS, his brother George Bowden of Waynesville, 2 sisters Doris Kilway of Akron, Sue Parks of Miamisburg, 3 grandchildren Sarah Arthur and husband Dave of Derby, KS, Michael Ohrt and wife Brandy of Palestine, TX, Rachel Johnson and husband Adam of Wichita, KS, 5 great grandchildren Bowden & Riley Arthur, Michael Ohrt, Annabelle & Trenton Johnson, as well as a host of other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton with Rev. Larry Lambes officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
