Byron Gerald (Jerry) EPLEY D.D.S.


News Death Notice

EPLEY, D.D.S. Byron Gerald "Jerry" known as "Pops" by many, of Oakwood, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was born to the late Byron W. and Margaret R. Epley on June 17. Jerry graduated from the University of Dayton and as Cum Laude in Dentistry from Ohio State University. Jerry was a member the Dayton Dental Society, Peer Review Board, St. Mary's of East Dayton and an active member of the Dayton Country Club. He was a kind and gentle spirit who always put his family first and he was there supporting them throughout all their life experiences. Jerry enjoyed staying active outside by golfing, bicycling, house boating, skiing, and dancing to his favorite 40's music. He is preceded in death by his parents. Jerry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Connie; daughter, Amy (Tim) Gresock of MI; son, Chris (Eileen) Epley of Oakwood; grandchildren, Jack and Lily Epley of Oakwood; sister, Carolyn (Dale) Plunkett of Dayton; sister-in-laws, Sara (Allan) Hauck of OH and Kathleen (Charles) Wooten of CA; brother-in-law, Ted Pegram of MN and a host of other good friends. The family would like to give their deepest gratitude to KMC, Bethany Lutheran Village, and all the care givers who gave such wonderful care to Jerry. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with a reception to follow.
