He started working at Armco (AK Steel) at the age of 16, and worked there until retirement. Later in life, it was nearly impossible for him to venture into town without running into one of his old Armco buddies and reminisce about the "Good Times" but he didn't stop after the mill. Charlie continued to harvest and work on his 50 acre farm after his retirement and took up several hobbies including playing in the Centerville Community Band, helping restore the Null Cabin with the Springboro Historical Society, and playing in the Springboro dulcimer group. His passion was music and woodwork. He was truly an expression of sincerity and of God's love, never shying away from helping his neighbor.
