News Death Notice

BRIDGES, Charles Leon "Bud" 77, of Dayton, passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2014. Bud was born in Armathwaite, TN to the late Euel and Floy Louise (Tompkins) Bridges. Also, preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward H. & Maudie Bell (Hull) Tompkins, who raised him since infancy. Survived by his loving fianceé and life partner, Carol Carr; two children, Steven (Sherry) Bridges, and Lori (Terry) Osborne; one granddaughter, Rachel Feltner; step- son, Shane Jaros; step-grandson, Christian Lieurance; step-son, Michael Sayen; two cousins who were like brothers, Tom (Janet) Tompkins and Jim (Karen) Ellis; as well as numerous other relatives and dear friends. Bud was the Founder and President of Dayton Bindery Service for over 30 years, where he had many loyal employees who were like family. He was an avid amateur golfer at Kitty Hawk where he participated in many amateur tournaments over the years and brought home several trophies. Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "Northridge Chapel," 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Pastor Bill Loudermilk, officiating. Interment Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 4-7 p.m. at the George C. Martin Funeral Home. If desired, memorials may be made to Children's Medical Center.
