News Death Notice

BROOKS, Charles M. age 92, of Brookville, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his residence. Charles served in the US Army in World War II and received 2 Bronze Stars. He was retired from Standard Register as a pressman and owned Brooks' Bakery in Lewisburg. He loved to travel, hunt, fish and was a member of the Family Motorhome Club and VFW Post 3288, Brookville. He is survived by his daughter: Shirley Mae Poston of Brookville, sons and daughters-in-law: Ronnie (Susan) Brooks of Union and David (Bonnie) Brooks of Lewisburg, grandchildren: Teresa (Terry) Moorhead, Michael Poston, Rachelle Brooks, Ronda (Steve) Stankovich, Douglas (Carey) Brooks, Brandon (Danielle) Brooks, and Shawna (Steve) Stump, 17 great-grandchildren, brother: Herschel Brooks, and sister: Dorothy Reese. Charles was preceded in death by his parents: Ira and Emma (McKinley) Brooks, wife: Mary Lucille (Hornick) Brooks, son: Douglas Brooks, son-in-law: James Poston, brother: Harold Brooks, and sister: Helen Kimmel. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood) with Pastor Jane Maxton officiating. Internment will follow services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Brookville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
