News Death Notice

CHAMBERS, Daniel Thomas Died Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he was a son of the late Thomas Leroy and Dorothy Catherine Dierkers Chambers. He was the husband of Barbara Roth Chambers. Mr. Chambers was a charter member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church where he served on the Building Committee, Church Council, and was a former member of the choir. He was also a member of the Lutheran Men in Mission. He was a longtime volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Chambers served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a lifetime member of the VFW, (Veterans of Foreign Wars). Mr. Chambers was an amazing husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He was known for the smile on his face, his sense of humor, helping others and was admired by many. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara Roth Chambers; daughters, Krista Chambers, Deanna Burns and husband, Jason, Traci Peevy and husband, Lee; son, Brian Thomas; grandchildren, Tyler, Katelyn, Joshua, Tristan, Abigail and Leah. He is also survived by sisters, Judy French, Kathy Jackson; brother, Steve Chambers; and a sister-in-law, Mary Chambers. Funeral service for Daniel Thomas Chambers, 63, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo.
