PHELPS, Dennis "Denny" 64, of Tipp City, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 27, 2013 with his loving wife by his side at Hospice of Dayton. Denny was born September 19, 1949 in Troy, OH to the late Hanson "Hank" and Emma Jean {Belden) Phelps. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by brothers; Don and David Phelps. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife Pam {Dare} Phelps, Tipp City, two daughters; Michelle (Scott) Bartlett and Adrienne and her husband Blake Isenbarger, 4 granddaughters; Crista and Kassidy Bartlett and Cera and Emma Isenbarger and "soon to be" grandson all of Tipp City and sisters; Nancy Kuehne, Sidney, OH and Merry Ann and her husband Terry Unger, Piqua, OH. Denny had served in the United States Army during Viet Nam, was a member of the American Legion Post 586, Tipp City and had served as an officer of the post and VFW Post 6557, Pleasant Hill. He enjoyed running, golfing, NASCAR and once bowled a 300 game "The Old Way" and most of all he loved spending time with family and friends. He was always quick with a joke and loved to make others laugh. He had a kind heart and would have given you the shirt off his back. He had a determined spirit throughout his illness, never accepting defeat. He had too much living to do to give in to this disease and living is what he did this past 2 ½ years. With the support of his wife he was able to enjoy the days when the illness wasn't so noticeable. He kept doing what he'd always done, and even added 4-wheeling to his list of things he enjoyed. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Ginghamsburg Church, Main Campus, Tony Miltenberger officiating.
