News Death Notice

DORSEY, Deveron 46, of Springfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 15, 2014. Deveron was born on February 24, 1967, in Dayton, son of the late Hubert L. Jr. and Constance M. (Jones) Dorsey. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 23 years, Lisa (Miller) Dorsey; children, Lauren (Shawn) Dorsey, Jordan (Beverly) Dorsey and Erika (Stephen) Dorsey; grandchildren, Iyanna Li, Xzavier Christopher and Nayeli Eden; brother, Kenneth (Tonia) Dorsey; sister, Yolonda (Michael) Marshall; grandmother, Hertha L. Singleton; beloved nephews and niece Kenneth Jr., Darius and Aleah; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, loving in-laws, cousins, friends and not to be forgotten, his spoiled 4-legged children, Sweet Pea and Dora and the ones he's reunited with now, Bobo, Sahara, Precious, Lokey and Batman. Deveron was a long time employee at Navistar for 19 years and will be deeply missed by his coworkers who became his extended family. Deveron and his wife have been avid antique collectors and dealers for 23 years. He had a passion for traveling with his beloved wife and family and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them. He will always be remembered by everyone for his unforgettable smile that could brighten any room and will be sadly missed by all the lives he's touched. Viewing will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 10a.m.-12p.m. at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER where services will begin at 12p.m. Burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
