E. Geraldine (Jerry) WALL

News Death Notice

WALL, E. Geraldine (Jerry) 88, of Sugar Land, Texas, died on January 31, 2014. She was born on May 14, 1925 in Louisville, Kentucky, to Helen and Roy Schott. A few years later, her family moved to Miamisburg, Ohio, where her father worked for Mutual Furniture Company. Jerry met her future husband, John Francis (Jack) Wall, when they attended Miamisburg High School. After graduation, Jerry was a secretary at Dayton Power & Light while Jack served on the U.S. Enterprise during WWII. They married in 1948 at Miamisburg's Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church and moved to the newly-developed Huber Plat in Kettering. They lived in Kettering until Jack's work as a real estate title examiner took them to Texas in 1980. In 1996, they sold their home and traveled the country in their Airstream travel trailer for two years. Jerry and Jack were married for fifty-nine years at the time of his death in 2007. Jerry took pride in her family and her homemaking skills. She was an avid reader, enjoyed following politics, researching genealogy, visiting national parks and presidential libraries, and admiring sunsets at Galveston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Aljean McNutt, and her husband Jack Wall. Jerry is survived by her son Chris Wall and daughter-in-law Beth in Ann Arbor, Michigan; daughter Ann Weisgarber and son-in-law Rob in Sugar Land, Texas; grandchildren Morgan Cangelosi and husband David in Texas, John Wall and wife Erin in Michigan, Valerie Wall in Michigan, and Sonja Wall and fiancé Adam Kosberg in Wisconsin; brother-in-law Bill Hancock in Texas; sisters-in-law Mary Lou Wall in Ohio and Marianne Wall in Kentucky; and many nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held on February 15, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, 508 Linden Ave., Miamisburg.
