News Death Notice

BALL, Elsie (Proffitt) age 89 of Englewood, departed this life into the arms of Jesus, which she stated would be her first stop in Heaven on April 30 , 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bailer and Dora Proffitt; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters. She temporarily leaves behind her loving husband of 64 years, David Ball; children, Jerry (Karen) Ball, Shirley Allison, Linda Pelton, and James Ball. Elsie assumed the role of a second mom to granddaughter, Amy Pelton (Kilbarger). Elsie and Dave share a total of 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild, all whom they loved more than life itself; 2 sisters, Cora (Roy) Kesterson and Minnie (Rolly) West; numerous family, friends, and her beloved church family. Elsie spent her life alongside her second half (Dave) raising their children, taking care of their home, gardening, loving her family and friends. We will miss her until we too are taken Home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to The Hospice of Dayton for the care and support given to Elsie and her family over the past 14 months. A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 4 at the funeral home from 9 AM until time of service at 10 AM with Pastor Tim Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Brookville.
