News Death Notice

BEACHLER, Elsie Marie age 88 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at her home. Elsie was born November 15, 1925 in Montgomery County to the late Earl Martin Stiver and Mildred Marie Stiver. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald W. Beachler in 1996 whom she married on Sept. 6, 1947, 2 sisters Phyllis Wright and Mary McDaniel , 4 brothers Ed, Kenny, John, Arlen Stiver. Elsie is survived by 2 brothers Herbert Stiver of Tipp City, James Kneier of Dayton, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends, and 2 Yorkies " Tami and Cindi". Elsie began her career at Good Samaritan Hospital in 1945 as a Medical Transcriptionist and retired in 1947. She volunteered for many years in Medical Records Departments working with Sister Ann Charlotte. She was the Owner and Operator with her late husband of Imperial Enterprises Inc. & United Fireworks Company Inc. which was sold in 1998. She later formed Beachler Enterprises and El-Don Corp. Elsie funded many charities; Ronald McDonald House, Salvation Army (Beachler's Tutoring School), DayBreak, SISCA, Humane Society, Power of the Pen, Dayton Foundation, Fisher Nightingale, Samaritan Health Foundation (Beachler's Nursing University), Washington College, Children's Medical Center and many others. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St. by Rev. Steve Gill. Entombment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to any of the above charities in Elsie's memory.
