News Death Notice

KELLY, Jr., Emanuel (aka Manuel and Joe) age 80, of Dayton, transitioned to eternal life on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Emmuel was born June 25, 1934 to the lae Emanuel Sr. and Leola (Jeter) Kelly in Carlisle, S. C. He served in the army during the Korean War. Following his service, he moved to Dayton, OH. He had a long and successful career in furniture at Value City Furniture, where he retired following decades of service. He was a faithful member and Senior Deacon at Greater New Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church. Emanuel was an avid sports fan and player. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Lee Kelly and a step-son, Michael Cunningham. Survivors include his wife, Rose Kelly and her children, Teresa and Kenneth (Christina) Cunningham; his former wife, Lucille Kelly; their children, Gregory (Jackie) Kelly, Yvonne (William) Knight and Yvette (James) Kelly-Fields; his brother, William R. Kelly; sister, Dorothy D. Spencer, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M., SATURDAY, July 19, 2014 at GREATER NEW PHILADELPHIA MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 108 N. Williams St., with Pastor Rev. Charles E. Spencer, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will be held 12:00 P.M., Monday, July 21, 2014 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4100 W.
