SMITH, Emma "Jean" Age 90, of Beavercreek, passed away July 26, 2014. Jean was born December 28, 1923 in Dayton. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Grace Myrtle Foust; her Father, Leonard Raymond Foust; Husband, Paul Robert Smith, Sr.; Sisters, Betty, Doris, Mary, Lois; Step-sister, Helen; Step-brothers, Leonard, Todd and Bob. Jean is survived by her Daughters, Barbara Johanson, Roberta King; Son, Paul Smith, Jr.; Granddaughters, Erin Schneider, Emily Stallings, Jennifer Sherwood; Great-Grandsons, Alex and Fletcher, and Daughter- in-law, Gale. Jean was an avid nature lover, as she adored her gardens while watching birds playing, shimmering leaves on her precious trees, and serene sunsets from her windows. She had a deep appreciation of life's simple pleasures, and a wonderful curiosity of all things around her. She was a kindred spirit of her Mother Grace, and it shined through as a loving mother and grandmother. She strove daily to live according to God's commandments in everything she did. She always spoke kindly of her wonderful neighbors, Marie, Mary and Bill, and John & Jean. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, Ohio where a funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm.
