News Death Notice

METZGER, Foster I. age 92 of Englewood, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014. He had worked for many years delivering farm fresh eggs and was known to many as the "Egg Man". He also was a painter and later worked for more than 18 years for Avis before retiring. He was a member of the Stillwater Old German Baptist Brethren Church, New Conference. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Lon and Mary Metzger of Brookville, daughter and son-in-law: Sharri and Ron Aldstadt of Englewood, grandchildren: Matthew (Allison Hartman)Metzger, Jesse Aldstadt, Ali (Ryan Mezger) Aldstadt, sister: Ruth Sandy of Gomer, brother: Everett (Opal) Metzger of Delphos, sister-in-law: Ruth Metzger of Elida, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Eva (Wray ) Metzger, parents: Lester and Nellie (Flora) Metzger, brothers: Floyd and Glenn Metzger, brother-in-law: Ed Sandy, sister-in-law: Mary Lou Metzger and granddaughter: Brittany Aldstadt. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Stillwater Old German Baptist Brethren Church (5401 Salem Bend Rd., Trotwood) with the Home Brethren officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Stillwater Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood).
