News Death Notice

COTTRELL, Jr., Fred 78, of Dayton, passed away April 16, 2014. He was born July 3, 1935 in Montgomery, Alabama, the son of the late Arthur Tolliver and Mary Cottrell. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in Germany during the Korean War. He retired from WPAFB where he worked in both security and as a truck driver. He was a member of the Old Timers Club and past president. He was also a member of the Hallelujah Choir; the Voice of Peace Male Choir; Pastoral Care at Good Samaritan Hospital and volunteered with Anam Cara at Good Samaritan Hospital and was a part of the Target Walkers of Trotwood. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Cottrell. He is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis Davis-Cottrell; children Calvin Cottrell, Barbara Cottrell, Richard Cottrell, Gregory Cottrell, Karen Branham, Timothy Brown; sister, Anna Pearl Richardson, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many good friends. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Valley Peace Church, 4201 W. Hillcrest Ave., Dayton, Ohio, where services will begin at 11 AM Wednesday.
