Gerald Lee (Gerry) BRAME

News Death Notice

BRAME, Gerald Lee (Gerry) 73, a native Daytonian, departed this life on Friday, February 7, 2014 at his residence. He was born November 1, 1940 to the late Thomas W. and Ollie (Tyler) Brame. Gerry was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Class of 1958, detective with the Dayton Police Department for nine years, and retired Chief of Investigative Services, Ohio Department of Human Services. Gerry was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Dayton police officer Kevin Brame. He is survived by loving sister, Diane Smith (David); former wife and devoted friend, Rosemary Peters Brame; daughters, Susan Tyler Williams (Kenneth), Detroit, MI, Karen D. Brame El-Amin (Bandele) and son Kerry Andrew Brame, both of Dayton, OH; and three grandchildren, Stephanie, Dominique and Kevin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Rick, Mary JoElyn, Adrienne (Greg), Robert (Juanita), Renee (Ray), Angela and Khadeesha, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Gerry was very outgoing and personable and will be greatly missed. Homegoing services will be held 12:00 Noon, MONDAY, February 17, 2014 at ZION BAPTIST CHURCH, 1684 Earlham Drive, Dayton, OH, with Rev. Rockney Carter, officiating. The family with receive friends one hour prior to service. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
