PANNELL, Harry Vance 86, of Clayton, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at his home. He was born in Fayette County, West Virginia on October 30, 1927 to the late Harry, Sr. & Letha (Burford) Pannell. Harry was retired from the U.S. Army and the U.S. Postal Service. He was a highly decorated soldier that served our country in WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Harry earned the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Award, the Army Commendation Medal with Valor and two Combat Infantry Badges, among others. Preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. Survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Sheila (Cooper) Pannell; son, Randall (Alice) Pannell of Miamisburg; daughter, Sandra (Tom) Comer of Clayton; grandchildren, Angie Pannell, Tommy Comer & Lauren Comer; great grandson, Zachary Pannell; brothers, Charles Pannell of Ravenswood, WV, and Richard Pannell of Oak Hill, WV; many nieces nephews & friends. Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "Northridge Chapel," 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Chaplain Dan Burris, officiating.
