News Death Notice

WOOLARD, Harry W. 88, of Xenia, passed away Monday, December 23, 2013, after a sudden illness, at Greene Oaks Health Center. He was born December 2, 1925, in Hillsboro, Ohio, the son of Joseph E. and Edna Mae Huff Woolard. He was a member of the Spring Valley Friends Church, and attended the Bethel Community Church the last 8 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of the New Burlington Masonic Lodge, #574, F. A. & M., New Burlington Eastern Star, #363, O. E. S., Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, and was a 25 year volunteer of the Spring Valley Fire Department. He retired from NCR, was a member of the 25 year club, and General Motors. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Haines) Woolard, whom he married, November 25, 1948, and with whom he celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last month, two daughters, Cathy Luttrell and Vicki Newton, both of Xenia, three grandchildren, Andrew Luttrell (Wendy), Brian Huss (Maria), and Amy Howard (Kenny D.), four great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Zachary, Kyndall, and Kaeden Tucker, by several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Harold E. Haines, who was raised in his home, and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, William G. Woolard. Services will be held at 10:30am, Friday, December 27, 2013, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Thursday, at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 8pm. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery.
