ADAMSON, Helen L. (Johnson) age 84 of Vandalia, a longtime member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church, passed from this life Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at Hospice of Dayton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bernard L. Johnson and by her second husband, Dr. John B. Adamson. Also preceding Helen in death were her parents, Charles E. and Callie Shafer, and brother, Charles E. Shafer, Jr. Helen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rev. Bettiann Clark and William E. Clark of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Teri Clark Linden of Ann Arbor, Michigan; sister, Betty Shafer of South Charleston, West Virginia; brothers, Paul E. Shafer and John L. Shafer; two nieces, Nancy Clendenin and Lisa Shafer; five nephews, Mark Shafer, Michael Shafer, John L. Shafer Jr., Charles E. Shafer III, and Wayne L. Shafer; her grandniece, Callie Clendenin; and many loving friends. At Helen's request, there will be no visitation or public service. Graveside services will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at the convenience of Helen's family. Arrangements made by Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
