News Death Notice

RAY, Howard A. age 87 of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012. He was born in Indiana, PA on August 25, 1925. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice; sisters, Lucille & Erna Ray; and sister-in-law, Janet Ray. He is survived by his wife, Norene; step-daughters, Denise (Jim) Innes & Sherry (Ken) Herstine; grandchildren: Lindsay, Kevin & Blake Herstine and Kevin Innes; brother, Kenneth (Lois) Ray; nephew & nieces: Michael (Gaybrielle) Ray, Lori (John) Foor & Linda (Roger) Maxton; grand nephews and nieces: Polly & Michael Ray, Joshua, Benjamin, Hannah & Sarah Foor, Ashley Hoopes, Amy McCarty & Stacy Place; one great grand nephew & 6 great grand nieces. Howard was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Japan during WWII; retired civilian from WPAFB Fire Dept. after 35 years combined service and served as a Volunteer Firefighter at Beavercreek Fire Dept. for 15 years. He was a member of Beaver Church for over 60 years & also attended Faith Lutheran Church for 25 years. He enjoyed woodworking, painting, yard work, bowling and spending time with his beloved grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Visitation 4-6 pm Sunday, Oct. 7, at MORRIS SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1771 E. Dorothy Lane, Kettering. Funeral service 10 am Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Kimpel officiating. Interment at Beaver Cemetery.
