Jamal M. (Boom Boom) SMITH


News Death Notice

SMITH, Jamal M. (Boom Boom) passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 following a three year battle with sarcoma cancer at Kettering Medical Center. Jamal was born on March 23rd, 1982 in Petersburg, VA. He attended Belmont High School in Dayton, Ohio. Jamal was the lead drummer for Silver Express Drill team, a member of Sin City Motorcycle Club, a past employee at D-Max and most recently, employed at Sugar Creek Packing Company until his illness and untimely death. Jamal is preceded in death by his mother, Mison Smith; brother, Antuan Smith; paternal grandparents, Elie and Eliza Smith Sr.; aunt, Lesia and a cousin, Kailynn Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, Latoya J. Smith; (2) daughters, Amya M. and MyLayia S.; (1) son, Jeremiah M. Smith; father, Elie E. Smith; step-sister, Myra Dean,; grandparents, Clyde and Eleanor Hill; ((4) aunts, Susie Rowan and Stephanie (Nita) Godwin, Dayton, OH; Catherine (James) Marsh, Davenport, FL and Deloris Smith, Eutaw, Ala.; (2) uncles, Jessie Smith and Jeffery Smith; (1) special uncle, Schone (Tessa) Hill, all of Dayton, OH. "Boom Boom" also leaves to cherish his memory; a special cousin, Sharma (Princess) Godwin; special friends, Thomas G. Clay, Jr. and Marie Spence and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service 11:00 A.M., WEDNESDAY, January 16, 2013 at SHILOH BAPTIST CHURCH, 3801 Fairbanks Ave., with Reverend Timothy D. Newkirk, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment: Jeffersoniveiw Cemetery.
