James Anthony METZGER


News Death Notice

METZGER, James Anthony of Huber Heights, a Chaminade High School and University of Dayton graduate who served in the U.S. Army and retired from Wright Patterson Department of the Air Force after 33 years of service, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. He was 80. Jim was preceded in death by a daughter: Charlotte Morales. Those left to honor his memory include his sister Caroline Fowler of Thornville, OH, his former wife: Pat Rasi of Dayton, his sons: Tony of Dayton, Joe (Della) of Spokane, WA and Chuck of Atlanta, GA; his daughters: Dorothy (Ken) Bowman of Oakwood and Amy Good of Germantown; his grandchildren: Michael, Aaron, Ryan, Nicholas, Nicole and Natasha Metzger, Ashley, Brooke and Andrew Morales, Daniel Metzger, Nicholas, Allison and Rachael Bowman and Nicole and Matthew Good; his great-grandchildren: Isabella, Elsie, Shawn and Adeline and a host of great friends and family. A VISITATION in celebration of Jim's life will be Thursday, November 15th from 5 to 7 PM in HARRIS FUNERAL HOME, 49 Linden Avenue, Dayton (937)253-3129. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Anthony Catholic Church, 820 Bowen St. on Friday, November 16 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, an expression of sympathy may be made in Jim's honor to Hospice of Dayton, Inc. Jim was a man of great knowledge who will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends May his soul rest in peace
