HATTON, Joan V. 76, of Dayton, formerly of Tarpon Springs, Florida, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014. She was born in Danville, Illinois on March 21, 1938 to the late Frank & Evonne (Herzog) Estes. Joan was retired from Our Lady of the Rosary, serving as a secretary for many years. She was also a member of the Moraine Baptist Church and had attended Eastern Illinois University. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Samuel C. Hatton; 2 sons, Clayton Hatton and Gregory A. Hatton; sister, Carolyn; brother, Frank Estes. Survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Frank & Theresa Hatton; 8 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jackie Estes & Bessie Smith (Jack); brother-in-law, Joe Walge (Carla); numerous nieces, nephews & many friends. She was loved by all who knew her. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014 at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "Northridge Chapel," 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Pastor Randy Chestnut, officiating. Interment Willow View Cemetery, Dayton. The family will receive friends Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the George C. Martin Funeral Home.
