News Death Notice

ASHWORTH, Judean "Little Doll Peterson" age 85, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was born in Powell Station, Tennessee, on September 30, 1928, to the late, Leo and Ottie Peterson. In addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Carl Ashworth; sisters, Reba Tompkins, Helen Stanley, Pauline Wilson; brothers, Billy and Paul Peterson; step-son, Bill Ashworth; and son -in-law, Bob Gebhart. Judean is survived her daughters, Sandra Gebhart of Germantown, OH, Judy Lynn (Jay) Francis of Kiev, Ukraine; step-daughter, Carol Allen of Dayton, OH; sister-in-law, Wilma Peterson of Caryville, TN: niece, Carolyn (Johnny) Crabtree of Oak Ridge, TN: beloved granddaughters, Betsy (Josh) Knight of Germantown, OH, Sara (Travis) Shade of Germantown, OH, Robyn (Jason) Gebhart of Columbus, OH. The Light of her Life ~ great-grandsons, Jake & Kyle Stiver, Wyatt Eshbaugh, Evan Shade, Colten & Luke Knight, a great-granddaughter expected in July; and many more of "her kids" nieces, nephews and friends; special friends Mattie & Paul Coldiron and Mabel and Pat Neal. She lived in Miamisburg until 1979 where she sold Avon and was "the lunch lady" at Mark Twain School. She and Carl moved to Hudson, FL, she remained there until 2004, and then she moved to Germantown. While in Florida she enjoyed working in her yard with a view of the canal from the Gulf. Always welcomed visitors from the North so they could enjoy the sunset with on her back porch overlooking the water. She was caretaker of the Great Grandsons until spring 2012. Friend may call 5-7 p.m., Thursday, February 27th, at the Dalton Funeral Home, Corner of State Route 4 & Weaver Rd., Germantown. An additional visitation will be held 10-11 a.m., Saturday, March 1st, with Funeral service to follow at the Cross - Smith Funeral Home, LaFollette, TN.
