News Death Notice

BERES, Julia Elizabeth age 99 of Kettering, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at St. Leonard's Retirement Home. Julia was born on September 24, 1914 in Lillian, Alabama to Hungarian immigrants, the late John and Elizabeth Haas Stauder. She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Michael Beres; siblings, John, her blind brother, Steve, Mary Kraft and Rose Brandt. She is survived by her son, Donald Paul Watern, and wife, Charlene; grandchildren, Steve (Celeste) Watern, Donald (Karen) Watern, Julie (Gary) Dotson, Diane (Karl Kirnon) Watern, Kathy (LaVannes) Rose, Mike Watern; 10 great grandchildren; 9 great, great, grandchildren. Julia is also survived by 5 nieces, 3 daughters of Rosie and Cliff Brandt, Susan, Beth, and Kathy; a niece Patty King, daughter of Bud and Mary Kraft; niece Lorraine Roberts (deceased), daughter of John Stauder. Her husband, Mike Beres, served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. Julia retired from Standard Register. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The family would like to thank all of the staff at St. Leonard's for their loving care and support. A visitation for Julia will be held from 5-8 pm Thursday, March 13, 2014 in the chapel at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME at 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Dayton, Ohio 45429. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM Friday, March 14, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 411 East 2nd St. Dayton, Ohio 45402. Father Angelo Anthony will be officiating.
