News Death Notice

DARBY, Larce E. age 92 of Enon, passed away Saturday July 26, 2013. He was born November 19, 1920 in Floyd Co., Kentucky, the son of the late John and Virgie (Woods) Darby. Larce served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Sperry. He retired from civil service at Wright-Patterson AFB and was a lifetime member of VFW #8437 in Enon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise in 2011; a granddaughter, Angela Louise; and six siblings. He is survived by three children, Gary Edward Darby and wife Sani of Versailles, KY, Marquita Holbrook and husband Jim of Enon, Latona Borders and husband Larry of Enon; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Tom, Huey, Joe; two sisters, Lucy and Christine; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Emeritus at Fox Run for their loving care. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 31, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Robert Haney officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will follow in the Enon Cemetery. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Hospice of the Miami Valley.
