News Death Notice

MURRAY, Marie M. age 101, died in her sleep on March 2, 2014 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center in Dayton, Ohio. Marie was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her father owned a garage and sold cars. He had to teach people how to drive when he sold a car. Marie married Forrest in 1937 and resided in Pittsburgh for 93 years before moving to Dayton to be near her daughter, Alice Roedersheimer. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and by her sons, William and Richard, and daughter, Patricia. Marie is survived by son, Paul Murray (Joyce) of Isle, MN; daughter, Alice Roedersheimer (Charles) of Dayton; sister Agnes Wilson, of Pittsburgh, PA; brother-in-law, Edward Williams of Pittsburgh, PA; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Walnut Creek Nursing Center for her care over the past 6 years. Marie will be remembered for her love of family, joy for living, her ever present smile and her culinary baking skills that provided friends and family with delicious dessert and holiday treats. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Church of the Holy Angels, Dayton. Arrangements in care of Reis Legacy Center Meyer-Boehmer Chapel, Centerville.
