News Death Notice

HALL, Mary A. age 85, of Xenia passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her residence. She was born October 2, 1927, in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of George and Rachael Sims. She worked for the US Government until 1956. She was a member of the Xenia Church of Christ on Country Club Dr.; and member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mary owned and operated the family farm for over 49 years, and with her son, she owned and operated Hall's General Store for over 22 years. For the last five years, she volunteered at the Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center and the Board of Elections. She is survived by her 6 children: Roger (Lisa), Patricia, Kathryn, Donald (Donna), Burell (LeAnn Javins), and Ronald (Jamie); 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother: Robert Sims; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank C.; son: Jeffery; and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 9, 2012 at the McColaugh Funeral Home Inc. 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia with Pastor Charles Forsythe officiating. Interment to follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Tuesday January 8th from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
