News Death Notice

MARTINDALE, Ned E. age 85, of Batesville, IN, formerly a longtime resident of Englewood, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. Ned was the Owner/Operator of Trojan Freight Lines and then Sterling Freight Lines. He was the former president of the Ohio Truckers Association and was a member of the Miami Valley Traffic Club and the National Trucking Association. He was a member of the Englewood United Methodist Church, the Antioch Shrine Temple in Dayton, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, and the F&AM Lodge #743, Englewood. He is survived by his daughters: Dee (Laura Brandon) Martindale of Aberdeen, MD, Jenny Andrews of Lexington, KY, and Penny (Joe) Ruff of Batesville, IN, grandchildren: Carrie Andrews, Jason (Lauren Amos) Andrews, Christina Gray, and Chelsea (Chris) Lovins, sister-in-law: Nancy Martindale of Englewood, 4 nieces, and 1 nephew. Ned was preceded in death by his wife: Georgia (Christian) Martindale and a brother: Donald Martindale. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012 at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood) with Pastor George Sidwell officiating. Internment will follow services at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Tipp City. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
