Patricia deMara Mills MOORE

News Death Notice

MOORE, Patricia deMara Mills Age 93, of Dayton Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at her home with family members at her side. Born and raised in Windsor Ontario Canada, she attended Holy Names College in Windsor, and was employed as an office worker and chemist. While vacationing in Oliphant Ontario, wearing a fashionable, striped coat, and being very pretty, she caught the eye of Thomas W. Moore, the love of her life. They were married in 1944 and moved to Dayton Ohio, where she worked at an insurance agency, and together they lovingly raised 7 children, all of whom became college educated and happily married. Together they enjoyed annual summer vacations in Oliphant, on the shore of Lake Huron, creating many wonderful memories for the entire family. She was a long-time active member of Shiloh Church, and enjoyed the friendship and love of that community of believers. She found joy and delight in almost every situation, and would softly share her faith, helping others to see the presence and power of God as clearly as she did. She is pre-deceased by her husband Thomas W. Moore in 1980, her dear friend and companion of recent years Ottis Jones, her sister Barbara Mills Terp, and her son-in-law, Jimmy Reed. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Reed, Mary (Jay) Peterman, Reta (Bernie) Sigal; her sons, Thomas R. (Carolyn) Moore, George (Debi) Moore, Robert (Lee Ann) Moore, and John D. (Laura) Moore; her brother-in-law Robert Terp, her grandchildren, Thomas P., Rob (Samantha), Ryan (Kara), Erin, Garrett, Matthew, Melody, and Thomas J. (Christina) Moore; Mark (Jessica), Jeff, Don, and Mike (Felita) Reed; Jessica (Rusty) Johnson; Diana (Jon) Hall; Heather Moon (Jamie Burge); Jake (Abigail), and Belle Sigal; Gina (David) Krouse; Amy (Steve) Leasure; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & many good friends.
