News Death Notice

RIKE, Paul Leslie age 90, of Clayton, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 following a brief illness at Brookdale of Englewood. Paul retired from Delco Products, and had served as a volunteer firefighter for many years with the Randolph Township Fire Department. He was a member of both the Randolph Township and Trotwood Historical Societies, and a longtime member of Happy Corner Church of the Brethren. He is survived by his wife: Betty L. (Bantz) Rike, daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda & Robert Grant of Greenville, Paula & Phil Mays of Centerville, Luanne & Don Peterson of Tipp City, son and daughter-in-law: Kim & Juli Rike of Butler Township, step daughters and sons-in-law: Rhonda & David Zink of Kettering, Theresa & Roy McGill of Trotwood, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Betty Jane (Wallace) Rike, parents: Louis & Effie (Reed) Rike, grandson: Jared Rike, and brothers & sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Happy Corner Church of the Brethren (7037 Union Road, Clayton) with Pastor Trent Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Interment will be at Ehrstine Cemetery in Trotwood.
