News Death Notice

ROTH, Richard Carl age 75, of Kettering, formerly of Madison, OH passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014. Richard was born January 2, 1939 in Cleveland, OH to the late Elmer and Mabel Roth. He graduated from Madison Memorial High School in 1957. Richard earned his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State in 1962 then went on to earn his Masters Degree from the University of Dayton in 1969. He worked for many years as a Manager of the Natural Gas Division for Dayton Power and Light. Richard was a member of the Social Fraternity Alpha Sigma Phi at Ohio State and did quite a bit of volunteer work for them as well. He was also the Past-President of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Richard enjoyed traveling in Europe and the Far East and loved to spend his time woodworking, reading, playing golf with friends and doing yard work. He especially cherished the time he spent visiting family and having breakfast and lunch with friends. Richard is preceded in death by his parents and niece, Carole Molina. He is survived by his wife, Jo-Anne; step-children, Greg and Jodi Bernard; sister, Nancy Hutchison and many special friends. The family would like to give their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hospice of Dayton and Routsong Funeral Home for their wonderful care. Family will greet friends from 2pm-4pm on Saturday, February, 1, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Madison, OH at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations, please take a moment to think of your loved ones.
