News Death Notice

WEST, Richley D. age 89 of Piqua, formerly of West Milton passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Heartland of Piqua. He was born April 6, 1923 in Dayton, Ohio. Preceded in death by his parents James D. and Helen (Hussong) West, beloved wife Armidene L.(Niles) West, brother J. Robert West and sisters Mary Ellen West , Deloris M. Meade and M. Jean Brown, son-in-law Douglas Seidel. He is survived by his loving daughter Deneen Seidel-Brookville. Richley served his country proudly in the US Army during WW II, received the French Award for Bravery, was a 1941 graduate of Roosevelt High School, received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Dayton, played basketball for the University of Dayton, a member of the UD Varsity Alumni Club, was a member of the American Legion Post #487,Troy VFW, West Milton VFW #8211, Troy Moose Lodge #1044, and was a member of West Milton United Church of Christ for 45 years and retired from W.P.A.F.B. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 30,2013 at the Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West Milton with Pastor John Johansen officiating, burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. Military Honors will be held at the graveside.
