News Death Notice

LEWIS, Sr., Roger Dean entered into rest on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, class of 1969. Roger served his country and was a proud veteran of The United States Marine Corps. He was retired from Flowserve, Inc., and employed at The Dayton Veterans Administration, and was a past member of the Dayton Jaycees and The Parliament Club. He was preceded in death by his loving wife and soul mate, Gretha Dean Lewis, his mother, Rovilla Estell, and his father and step-mother, Elmo (Ruby) Edmonds. Survivors include his daughters, Kmbali (Letoskey) Carey and Stacey Lewis, son, Roger Dean Lewis, Jr. (Carnella), sister, Pamela Peavy, brothers, Michael Lewis, Sr. (Doris), Lawrence Lewis and James Edmonds, Sr.; (6) grandchildren, step-father, Vincent Estell, dedicated sister-in-law, Barbara (Andrewloy) Jemmott, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including a dear friend, Cynthia Tanner, and numerous special friends who all loved "Dean" dearly and affectionately. Funeral service 11:00 A.M., WEDNESDAY, January 30, 2013 at THOMAS FUNERAL HOME, 4520 Salem Ave., with Reverend John Williams, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
