News Death Notice

CREGAR, Ruth O. age 77, of Huber Heights, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Miami Valley Hospital. Born in Paintsville, KY on January 10, 1937 to the late John (Callie) Ratliff Setser. Ruth graduated from Van Lear High School and made her move to Dayton following her two big sisters at the age of 18 with a job waiting on her. She would proudly work her one and only job for the next 36 years, 8 months and 16 days, at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, where she would meet her late loving husband, Richard D. Cregar, after 2 years and they would build a life together. Ruth became a cherished, devoted loving mother to her late son, Ronald D. Cregar, born January 8, 1959, her proudest moment by far. Who eventually made her a cherished grandmother of 3 and great-grandmother of 7. Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Ellis, & Elbert Setser; sister, Lottie Setser Thomas; great-granddaughter, Michaela Dickey. Ruth will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Debra Cregar; sister, Audrey Huff; niece, Carla Roberts; granddaughter, Melissa Dickey; grandsons, Rodney Cregar & wife Andrea, Kevin Hock & wife Melissa; great-grandchildren, Christapher, Elisabeth, & Cole Cregar, Micah Eaton, Elianna Dickey & Isabella Hock. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike. Interment Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 AM Tuesday until service time.
