News Death Notice

SCHWIETERMAN, Thomas G. age 83, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014. Tom retired from Smith Industries after 38 years of service as an Engineering Manager, charter member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Air Force Veteran in the Korean Conflict Era, member of Catholic Young People's Club, active in the Holy Name Society, member St. Peter Athletic Association, started the St. Peter Blood Bank, member of St. Peter Parish Council, coached the St. Peter Youth Group Volleyball Team, played on the Men's Volleyball Team, active in Sinclair's Lifelong Learning program, very active volunteer at St. Peter Catholic Church as an usher, money counter and festival worker. He enjoyed using his tool box for innovative repairs and inventions, loved traveling, camping, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren at sporting, music and many other activities. Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Schwieterman; parents, Cornelius & Olive Schwieterman; brother, Donald "Bud", brother-in-law, Bill Kozuh. He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie; daughters & sons-in-law, Cindy & Dave Deptula, Nancy & Dave Smith, Judy & Andy Blizzard; son & daughter-in-law, Bart & Janet Schwieterman; sisters & brother-in-law, Betty Kozuh, Sue & John Cordonnier; sister-in-law, Marilyn Schwieterman; brothers & sisters-in-law, Ted & Joanne Schwieterman, Gene & Barb Schwieterman; grandchildren, Chris, Justin & Ben Deptula, Katerina & Victor Smith, Joe, Robby, Jacob & Sam Blizzard, Chris, T.J. & Andrew Schwieterman; and many other relatives & friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, April 17, 2014 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road with Father Earl Simone celebrant. Interment Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Wednesday at Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church in Tom's memory.
