News Death Notice

EHRGOTT, William (Bill) Harry 88, of Springfield, Ohio passed away peacefully January 3, 2013 at Friends Care Center of Yellow Springs surrounded by his family. Bill was born April 25, 1924 in Owatonna, Minnesota, the only child of Harry Jacob and Ethel (Hubbell) Ehrgott. He grew up in Dayton, Ohio and graduated from Parker Cooperative High School in 1942. Bill served in the 69th Armored Division in World War II from 1943-1946. On July 8, 1944 he married his "Ginny", Mary Virginia Hicks of Yatesville, Georgia. Bill studied dental technologies under the GI Bill. Having both the technical and artistic skill necessary for that trade, he was able to provide for his family and eventually founded his own business, Ehrgott Dental Lab. He retired in 2007 after 60 years. Following retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, birds and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law Josephine (Feltner) Ehrgott and son John David Ehrgott. Surviving him are his wife of 68 years and children Bill (Miriam) Ehrgott Jr. of Sugar Grove, Ohio; Mary Jo (Tom) Henry of Kennewick, Washington; daughter-in-law Barb Ehrgott of Cottonwood, Arizona; Ethlyn (David) Ross of South Charleston, Ohio; Susanna (Tim) Ross of Springfield, Ohio; Mike (Cindy) Ehrgott of Pasco, Washington; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and Zip. Visitation will be in Adkins Funeral Home on Sunday, January 6, from 4-6pm. Private services will be at the convenience of his family.
