Everett Sherron Obituary

SHERRON, Everett W. 100, of Middletown, passed away May 26, 2017, at his home and is now with his Heavenly Father. He was born September 12, 1916, to Emmett S. and Amy (Rickman) Sherron near Paducah, KY, the eldest of four children, Marvin, Marie Boos and Harold, all of whom preceded him in death. His family moved to Middletown in 1927 and he has lived here ever since. He married Louise Craig on February 28, 1942. Louise died in 1988 on their 46th wedding anniversary. They had three children, John Sherron of Grove City, Anne (Jerry) Lapham of Monroe, and Doug (Carol) Sherron of Rochester, NY. Everett has 7 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 6 great, great grandchildren. Everett was a graduate of Middletown High School Class of 1934 and Miami University. He worked 35 years for the Black Clawson Company and retired in 1981. He was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church in Middletown where he was an usher for 60 years. He was active in the Boy Scouts for 71 years, serving 61 years with Troop 718 in many positions including Scoutmaster and Troop Committee Chairman. Everett received many scouting awards, including Eagle Scout, Silver Beaver, Wood Badge, District Award of Merit, and the Vigil Honor of the Order of the Arrow. He was past president of the Middletown Historical Society and a docent at the Canal Museum. He was named the All American Citizen of 1998 by the Middletown High School Athletic Boosters Club and received the Mary Jane Palmer Nunlist "I Love Middletown" honor in 2016. Visitation will be Friday, June 9, 2017, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Middletown. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 120 S. Broad Street, Middletown with Reverend John Wagner officiating, with additional visitation prior to the service from 12:30 2:00 pm at the church. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Boy Scout Troop 718, c/o First Baptist Church, 4500 Riverview Ave., Middletown, Ohio 45042 OR - First United Methodist Church, 120 S. My Condolences on the passing of your Father. Everett and I became friends through Scouting. It was always a pleasure to see him and he had a firm handshake and always asked about my son. No man had a finer character than Everett's. His passing leaves a void few men can fill.
