Carl Monnin Obituary


News Death Notice

MONNIN, Carl J. age 73 of Beavercreek, passed away on Sunday, August 02, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. He was a 1952 graduate of Chaminade High School. Carl served our country in the Army as a paratrooper. He worked as a truck driver for Sun Oil, went on to work for Lebanon Power & Light and finally retired from DP&L where he worked as a lineman for over 30 years and was a life time member of the Milton Athletic Club. Carl received the Kettering Mayor's award in 1980. Carl was a member of the Church of the Ascension and member of the K of C. He enjoyed traveling, collecting small antiques and tools. Proceeded in death by his parents; Flavian and Bertha Monnin; grandson Charlie Monnin; sister Virginia; and brothers Joseph, Norbert and Robert. Carl is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathryn (Bereda) Monnin; daughter Christine (Tim) Connors, and their daughter Kaitlyn; son Joseph (Dawn) Monnin and their children, Shelby and Keely; daughter Michelle (Doug) Massie their daughter, Megan; son Daniel (Kelly) Monnin and their children, Drew, Jack and Anna; brothers Marion, Paul (Doris), Norman and Jerome (Grace) Monnin; and his sister Phyllis (George) Beeson. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive, Dayton, OH with Father Chris Worland officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 3797 Summit Glen Dr. Ste. G100 Dayton, OH 45449 or Hospice of Dayton, 3234 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45401. Kitty and family
I am so sorry to hear of Carl's death. My husband and I were on vacation so missed seeing it in the paper. My mom (Katy Hurr) missed it also. Had we not been gone, I would have brought Mom to the viewing. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Linda and Ken Franke
