News Death Notice
ABSHIRE-GRIMES, Van Michael Joey Age 40, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2008. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Millie Lockard; aunt, Deborah Abshire; brother, Paul Edward Abshire; and cousin, Trevin Martin. Joey is survived by his wife, Sheila Abshire; his mother, Sherlyn Abshire; two step- children, Sarah & Elijah; brother, Charles Abshire; sister, Jamie Abshire; mother-in-law, Ruth Brady; three nephews, Austin & Chandler Abshire and Gage Abshire; half brothers & sisters, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday (10/25) at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton. Pastor Nathan Hundley will officiate. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joey to the family to be used at their discretion. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
