KENDIG, Jeanne C. Age 58, succumbed on February 24, 2016 following a 15 year battle with cancer. Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed at Stuart Hall at the University of Dayton. Jeanne had a love of dance and over the years she taught at several local studios. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Clark. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, David Kendig; sons, Vincent (Theresa) Kendig, Joseph (fiancé Annie) Kendig and Daniel Kendig; daughters, Elizabeth (Jonathan) Cain, Mary (Cameron) Kirkwood and Michaela Kendig; grandchildren, Ryan, Adam and Lillian Cain; brothers, John Clark II and Gerald Clark; and by her mother-in-law, Elizabeth R. Kendig. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Dear Kendig Family,

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family during this difficult time. I was blessed to have crossed paths with Jeanne at UD. Jeanne was an amazing, strong, fun flyer lady! I will never forget her smile and the hospitality that she showed our UD students everyday. We did not get to see each other everyday, but when we did she always talked of her loving family. She was proud of each and every one of you. Jeanne has left an impression on our hearts for sure. My family will be praying for your family today, tomorrow and the coming months.

Dear Dave,

I send this to you in grief and sadness for the loss of Jeanne. I know our paths have not to crossed in over 39 years...but that does not mean that Kathy and I had forgotten you and Jeanne as friends...as I for one always hold many "old" friends close to my heart, and in my mind.

I have said prayers and continue to say prayers for Jeanne, you, and the extended Kendig family. It is my hope that this time of sorrow may be measured and hopefully relieved knowing that Jeanne is well, in the presence of God, smiling at all of you, and asking the Lord to help relieve your grief.

Dave, friends are like stars. You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.

I feel so honored to have known Jeanne, as she was such a bright light in this world. She exhibited such strength and courage yet always displayed pure compassion and empathy for others. Above all Jeanne was a wonderful wife and mother & a friend you could always count on! There is a special place in heaven for Jeanne & while I know how tremendous the loss for her family & friends,I'm glad that she is there & the suffering is over! I can't begin to express how sorry I am to the Kendig & Clark families for your loss! I pray for strength & comfort in the days, weeks & months ahead. Remember you are not alone & you have many supportive friends who love you & ready to help anyway they are needed. A special note to David.....you do know Bill was right there waiting to greet her & help her with the transition...or at least I would like to think so.
