News Death Notice
SCHOOLER, William B. Age 70, born November 7, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away February 28, 2016. He was Pastor of St. Peter's Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his parents, Pastor Allen H. and Annie L. Schooler; siblings, Paul A. Schooler, Lucile A. Brown, Christian Bowman, Pastor James E. Schooler, Mary Lovelle, Joanna Napier, Shirley Hinesman, Linda Rutledge, and Allen Henry Schooler. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helen Schooler; children, Dorian Bush, Heather Schooler, Dakesa Piña and son-in-law, Jamie Piña; grandchildren, Eva and Eden Piña, Dorian Bush, Junior; brothers, Robert and Daniel Schooler; closest friend, Husani Kitwana; many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1900 W. Third St. Rev. Junior F. Greenlee officiating. Visitation from 9-11 am. Family will receive friends from 10:30-11 am. Interment 1 pm Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4100 W. Third St. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Condolences may be expressed at [email protected]

First the initial shock, horror and disbelief. Then the process of preparation and final goodbyes. And lastly this: EMPTINESS...SILENCE.. LONELINESS.
The what if? Why? What could I have done? I wish I could just go back and change this or that. I didn't get to say some things I wanted to say.
These are the things you'll encounter and my prayers are with this family regarding going forward. Some days will be tough, others will be just another day of living.

I first met Pastor Schooler when I was an officer for the Ohio Baptist General Convention, Inc. Youth Auxiliary. Pastor Schooler had a way of making you feel special, even when he was telling you what you were doing was wrong. I loved his spirit and drive. He wholeheartedly supported young people and often advocated for us. He kept us in order, and most of all, loved what he did. I will miss him...
