News Death Notice

TRICK, Sr., Arthur John 76, of New Carlisle, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 3, 1937 the son of the late Clarence and Josephine (Logel) Trick. He married his wife of 56 years Phyllis (King) Trick on August 30, 1958 in Dannemora, NY. Arthur spent four years in the Air Force. He retired after 40+ years as a mechanic. Arthur loved his family, he loved going fishing with his brother Tom, gardening at his daughter's house, and going to garage sales with his magnet in his hand. He was a devoted Catholic at Sacred Heart Church in New Carlisle, member of the Knights of Columbus, a Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan. He is survived by his Wife, Phyllis Trick; brothers, Thomas, Joe and Donald Trick; Sisters, Evelyn Newmaier, Martha Chapman, Dorthy Gibson, and Charlotte Tiller; Son, Arthur J. Trick Jr.; daughters, Connie Clair, Laura Shoffner, Becky Christman; Grandchildren, Michael Trick, Maranda Shoffner, Edward Shoffner, Daniel Shoffner, Matthew Shoffner, Jessica Trick, Jordan Trick, Gwyn Ernst, Parker Christman, Preston Christman and Katie Clair; Great Grandchildren, Devin Lester, Dameon Keaton, Terryn Lester, Cayden Ernst, and Austin Ernst. In addition to his parents Arthur was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Kirby; daughter, Melissa Trick and Grandson, Jonathan Trick. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 PM, Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, OH. A Mass of Christian burial will take place in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10 AM, Monday, June 9, 2014. Burial will follow at the New Carlisle Cemetery.
