News Death Notice
CHARLES, Darlene S. (Jones) age 70 of Beavercreek passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter J. and Donna (Holms) Jones. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William S. Charles; two daughters, Denise and husband, Robert Vanderhorst, Tonya Charles; a granddaughter, Amanda M. Vanderhorst; a sister, Deborah Sue and husband, Rick Eisele; a maternal aunt, Jody and husband, Harold Grinnel. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends. Darlene was a graduate of Beavercreek High School, Class of 1962 and Beaver Valley Chapter #570 O.E.S. She was also a die hard Elvis fan. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, from the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 with an Eastern Star Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com

As a child, Darlene was a very fun-loving sister. She was proudly referred to as "Sissy". She will be sadly missed, yet I will always remember our good times. She was with me through the births of both of my children.
