ADKINSON, Dorothea ("Dot") Ferguson 84, who most recently resided at 10 Wilmington Place, Dayton, OH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 18, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on March 18, 1926 in Tipton, Indiana. Her husband Charles Adkinson, Jr. and daughter Suzanne (Douglas) Kromer preceded her in death, as did her brother, John Ferguson. She is survived by her children Charles III (Susan), David (Jean), Dianne, Teresa (Terry) Buchanan, Patrick (Debbie), Philip, Steven (Sharen), 11 grandchildren, 8 grandchildren-in-law and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as her sisters Marie Scholtes, Jean Stobinski, and Cecilia Stone. Dot was employed as an engineering librarian at Standard Register and later worked at DeClark's Gifts and Jo Ann Fabrics. In recent years she volunteered at Kettering Hospital and Hospice of Dayton. She loved sewing, reading, Cash Cab (and Peyton Manning). Friends and family may visit from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. A mass will celebrate her life Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 272 Bainbridge St., Dayton, OH 45402 officiated by Father Rick Friebel.
