News Death Notice
SIZEMORE, Eric Jerome It is with great sadness that the family of Eric Jerome Sizemore announces his passing after a battle with Melanoma, on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at the age of 47. Eric passed away at his home surrounded by friends and family. Eric will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend Jill, and their precious children, Ricky (Vanessa) Vidal, Samantha Cox and Madison Cox, by his granddaughter Felicity Vidal, by his parents Bonnie and Jim Sizemore, and by his brother and sister Troy (Angie) and Jamie Roy. Eric will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. Eric was born and raised in Dayton and graduated from Dayton Christian. He was a member of the US Air Force as a Security Specialist. He also was a service manager at Northridge Goodyear. Eric served his Lord by being a volunteer at the Saint Patrick's Soup Kitchen in Troy. He loved his Lord and Savior and touched many lives by sharing his message. Eric cared so much about saving lives that he donated his body to Wright State University for research. Services will be held at Ginghamsburg Church's Main Campus, 6759 S. County Line Road 25A, Tipp City on Saturday, August 6, 2011. A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and then a memorial service immediately following. After the service you are invited to lunch at the Discipleship Center, 7695 South County Road 25A, Tipp City where we will continue visitation if there wasn't enough time for everyone to visit with the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a fund established at all PNC Bank branches called the Eric Sizemore Fund or donations may be mailed to the Eric Sizemore Fund, 6845 Marjean Dr., Tipp City, Ohio 45371.

I didn't know you, Eric, but feel in some small way that I do through your wonderful wife's blogs, posts and videos. You were definitely an amazing man who was loved by so many. Eric, I miss you deeply although we were not as close in the later years. When I was young You, Dave and Don showed me the ropes. Never met you, and you didn't know me, I'm new to being a Melanoma Warrior, but though I'm at the start of my journey, your journey has inspired me. I hope I can be as courageous, kind, and humble as you have been, no matter what happens. I sit here with tears in my eyes, reading the lovely things written by Eric's friends. I knew him from Richie's and then Goodyear. He was such a positive, upbeat and happy guy. He touched a lot of people's lives and that is a wonderful legacy.

I am so very saddened by the loss of a wonderful man and a warrior of God as everyone has stated (I never knew Eric. I pray for Eric's family and all who knew him. Jill, I am so glad I had some special time with Eric. One mistake that family can make is let time and life get in the way of spending time together. We grew up like siblings and then adult life got in the way. How I wish I hadn't missed all those years of his life. You seem to take things for granted when you know they are only a phone call away. wish i had made a few more calls but am very thankful for the time we had lately. I will miss just knowing his was there if needed very bad. I'm praying for you now. :(

I met Eric a few years ago through working with Jill. From that very first meeting, I could tell that Eric was a genuine person. Eric grew to become a friend that I really loved. Eric would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and loved to serve others. He set an example to all that knew him on the right ways to treat others. In the middle of his battle he was not only fighting for himself but be was fighting the good fight to share information and love with all those around him not to mention those whom he never even met!
