News Death Notice

HOENING, Sr., Eugene F. age 82, of New Weston, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at his home. He was born February 8, 1932, in Burkettsville, to the late Paul & Rosa (Hart) Hoening. On September 29, 1956, he married Margaret (Winders) who survives in New Weston. He is also survived by five children, Eugene Jr. & Sandy Hoening of Burkettsville, Timothy Hoening of Greenville, Linda & Jeff Boerger of Piedmont, South Carolina, Judith & David Jaworski of St. Louis, Missouri and Tom & Tonya Hoening of Versailles, eleven grandchildren, three sisters, Ruby & George Monnier of Houston, Madonna McCarthy of New Carlisle and Joan Helton of West Milton, and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hoening of West Milton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Hoening. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville and its Holy Name Society, and the Cattleman's Association of Ohio. He was a retired military veteran having served in the Marines, Army and Air Force, and a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, the Vietnam War Veterans Association, the North Star American Legion and the Greenville V.F.W. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 8 PM and on Thursday from 9 to 10 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry. Memorials may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
