News Death Notice

PRICE, Ida C. (Cemino) age 90, born April 14, 1923, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 27, 2013. Ida was 1st generation born in the USA as her parents were from Calabria & Sambiaise, Italy. She was early employed at Gallagher's, Ohio Bell then Delco Products. She then became manager of a Capital Dry Cleaners on Salem Ave then Free Pike for over 25 years. Ida was an excellent cook. Anytime you dropped over to her house she either had a big meal ready for you or could put one together in no time. She loved company whether you came over for coffee or to play cards or just to talk. Everyone was always welcome. She loved gardening and had entered vegetables in the Ohio State, Montgomery and Greene County fairs since 1990, winning ribbons every year. She grew extra vegetables for family, neighbors and friends. She & Albert were married 66 years before his death on August 6, 2011. Ida was a wonderful Mom, Wife and Mother-in-law and had much personality. She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Lucy Cemino, and by her 2 brothers: Jasper J. Cemino and Louis A. Cemino. She is survived by her daughters: Mary Price (Dominic) and Luann Scott (Tom); step-grandchildren, Stephanie (Nick) and Adrianne; step-great-grandchild, Abigail; sisters-in-law, Vivian and Sue Cemino; nephews, Mike (Theresa) Cemino, and Mark (Diane) Cemino; great-nephew, Michael Cemino; almost sister, Barb Santo; dear friend, Ken McHenry, and granddogs, Tess, Iya & Zippy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 5000 Burkhardt Rd. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, and again on Tuesday, July 2, from 9am to 10am at St. Helen's Church.
