HAMILTON, Ira B. (Red) Age 81, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away at Livingston Nursing Home on May 8th, 2014. He was born in Teaberry, KY on May 21, 1932. He proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of VFW #657, Amvets #24 and American Legion #619. He is survived by his wife and best friend Olga Hamilton (Sue); two sons, Mark (Anna) of Virginia and Dirk of Arizona; three step-daughters, Virginia Howell of Fairborn, OH; Angela (Henry) Highfield of Dayton, OH; and Michelle (Kevin) Dotts of South Point, OH; one step son, Martin (Darlene) Howell of Dayton, OH; four grandsons, Brandon Howell of Port Clinton, OH, Caleb Howell of Athens, OH and Michael and Victor Highfield of Dayton, OH. other survivors include 4 brothers: Andy, Carter (Brenda) and Rexal (Garnet) all of Teaberry, KY and Thomas (Geneva) of Craynor, KY: and four sisters Alpha Donnellan of Teaberry, KY, Eva Voshell & Dixie Slone both of Elkton, Maryland and Rosie Brown of Auxier, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. A memorial will be held at Mars Hill Church at a future date as his body was donated to WSU. The family would like to express their appreciation to Livingston Nursing Home, the V.A. and Crossroads Hospice for their gentle care of their loved one.
