CARABIN, James A. Age 86 of Dayton, OH, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013. Jim was born May 16, 1927 in Cincinnati, OH, son of the late Marie Carabin Decker. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Jim was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Having visited 5 continents, he loved to travel and spend time with his family. Jim played the drums with local bands for over 60 years. Jim is survived by his 7 children, Jamie Nadalsky, Gary (Christina), Jennifer (Dan) Wade, Christopher (Keely), Craig, Cynthia Cioffari and James (Debbie); 17 grandchildren, Matthew (Brenda), Melissa (Jared), Jacob, Rachel, Christina (Scott), Aaron (Heidi), Danielle (Mark), Chelsea (Tim), Alex (BJ), Ashton (Matt), Katie, Andrew, Adam, Cara, Benjamin, Ethan and Madison; 16 great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Johnathon, Kassidy, Liam, Dempsey, Andrea, Noel, Justin, Khenadi, Carter, Bexley, Parker, Carson, Kenna, Jameson and Tyler; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Virginia (Nowak) Carabin on August 13, 2011; son-in-law, Lou Nadalsky, Jr. and great-grandson, Baby Minne Gordon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 527 Forest Ave., Dayton, OH 45405, Fr. Joshua Otusafo celebrant. Interment Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 6-8 PM Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home & Crematory, 5555 Philadelphia Dr., Dayton, OH 45415.
